Within a week of Io-Cyte forming, we will be at Wounds UK 2019 at Harrogate, where we are presenting a poster with results on anti-bacterial and biofilm disruption activity of a high absorbency dressing. The results showed that the Io-Cyte design is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and has the ability to disrupt well-established biofilms, again both gram positive and gram-negative bacteria (staphylococcus aureus and pseudomonas aeruginosa) . This is an important step for our technology since biofilms are now recognised to be one of the key reasons for delayed healing in the wound environment.
For those of you not at the conference, you can see a copy of the poster here. The work was done in collaboratino with Perfectus Laboratories who developed the biofilm test method and carried out the lab testing on our prototypes. We look forward to some great discussions in Harrogate.
